I think you've done a great job! Specially with the colours; nice sky, the shading on the hands is great, and damn that's a lot of work on the sky... All Copic, right?
And your array of weird creatures/vegetation is growing - Coconut eyes and smiley trunk!!! Noticed you didn't shade so much as put blocks/flats of colour but still suggests depth/3D to the object. Nice!

"I'm sorry, did you just question the rainbow?" "What? I'm trying to say that-" "Did you or did you not question the rainbow?" "Y...yes?" "I advise you start running, sir."
Re: shading, really? Maybe it doesn't come across in the scan (which I darkened considerably to get the fur to come out and make the inks black), but there's actually a great degree of shading on the hands and tree. Still, I know what you mean and that also applies so thankyou ^_^
I've been drawing a lot of palm trees lately... I'm not sure why.
And yeah, I'm really happy with the colours so thanks! I used mostly only my new markers (yep, all Copics) because I was excited about them and they looked wonderful together.

Lookit this way - I've a very small inkling of what shading with markers is like from a few vague attempts here and there in the past (with substandard markers, oh the sexy results you give us with those Copics!) so if it looks as good as it does on-screen, after scanning and _darkening_ as you say... helluva job well done!
You draw palm trees because you miss the tropicalness of QLd, which is currently freezing its collective ass off in a cold snap.
How many Copics do you have now? Do you go through (any) of them particularly quickly?
A collection of the most beautiful and amazing square photographs I found among my favourites. Please have a look and give these artists the attention they deserve!
